State-of-the-Art Drug Testing System ADAMS Promotes Free and Fair Sport – Drug Testing System Developed By Presagia Achieving Global Adoption

2005-06-05T17:17:40+00:00 June 5th, 2005|Company News|

Montreal, Canada, June 5, 2006—Presagia Corp, the leading developer and provider of real-time web-centric solutions for health, safety and injury management, today announced that ADAMS (Anti-Doping Administration and Management System), the global drug testing system developed by Presagia for WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) is well on its way to a full-scale rollout. Having finished an initial trial phase, ADAMS is gaining high adoption rates as large numbers of global sports organizations sign on. Launched in the fall of 2005, WADA embarked on an ambitious mission to deploy ADAMS on a global basis. The goal was to create a system with the flexibility, scalability and versatility required to enable sporting federations and anti-doping organizations to plan, execute and manage anti-doping tests and process their results for over 100,000 international-level athletes. Currently the system is in use by 18 Anti-Doping Organizations, 17 International Sport Federations, 1 Continental Sport Federation, and several WADA-Accredited Laboratories. ADAMS was built on Presagia’s InjuryZone platform and is currently available in English, French, Spanish, and Japanese. The 2006 Winter Paralympic Games marked a milestone for ADAMS and WADA being the first in-competition parallel test of the system. TOROC, IPC, and WADA oversaw a highly efficient process that enabled 154 doping control officers, phlebotomists, military personnel, administrative staff and volunteers to conduct 242 doping tests - a 150 percent increase over the 2002 Winter Paralympics in Salt Lake City. Leading up to and throughout the event all doping test plans and results were entered into ADAMS. Martin Leesti, Director of Presagia Professional Services, volunteered along with WADA and IPC personnel to oversee the use of ADAMS at the 2006 Winter Paralympics. He mentions that, “Going forward, the use of ADAMS is going to improve administration of the testing and results management processes, allowing Major Games organizers to save cost and effort by creating a standardized workflow. Secure information exchange with National Anti-Doping Organizations can also provide a complete picture of an athlete’s past test history, leading to smarter testing.” In addition to efficiency gains, the system increases testing and reporting accuracy. The standardized process delivered through ADAMS protects athletes from mistakes possible with paper-based systems. ADAMS has a series of built-in rules that apply automatic checks to each step of the process to reduce human error. One example is the Therapeutic Use Exemption. The ADAMS TUE enables athletes and their medical providers to request and obtain approval for the therapeutic use of certain drugs. Reducing human error expedites the approval process and ensures that any positive findings are immediately crosschecked with up-to-date exemptions. The result is an accurate test process and faster delivery of results. Presagia is proud to play an integral role in the introduction of technology to aid the global effort to promote free and fair sport by eliminating doping. About Presagia Corp. WADA Signs Agreement for Development of Clearinghouse Computer System

2004-07-11T16:32:30+00:00 July 11th, 2004|Company News|

Montreal, July 2004—The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced that it has signed an agreement with eLynx Medical of Montreal to develop the Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS will be a web-based system consisting of three main modules: whereabouts management, clearinghouse functionality, and a doping control database. Under the World Anti-Doping Code, WADA was tasked with creating such a system to assist its stakeholders with better implementation of the Code. The whereabouts management module will allow for better collection and sharing of athletes’ whereabouts information for doping control purposes. ADAMS will enable athletes and anti-doping organizations to update whereabouts information via the web on a regular basis. The clearinghouse will be a central repository for anti-doping information, including tests and approved therapeutic use exemptions. It serves as a mechanism to ensure that all anti-doping initiatives are carried out in a transparent manner. The doping control database will provide a mechanism to assist anti-doping agencies to commence the coordination of their testing programs. The database will help with planning, coordination and distribution of doping control tests. “ADAMS is a crucial part of WADA’s obligations under the Code,” said David Howman, WADA’s director general. “We are pleased to have found a partner in eLynx Medical that will allow us to deliver a quality product to our stakeholders that will assist them in their ongoing efforts to keep sport free of doping.” ADAMS is expected to be ready for implementation by stakeholders by early 2005.
